Joy offers private consultations creating individualized plans that offer support and counseling for change which include cooking for health, vegan/vegetarian options, kitchen/pantry stocking, shopping guidelines and buying organic. This consultation format can be customized for specific needs such as:

Workshops & Group Kitchen Visits
Joy offers a variety of group events including weekly/monthly Group Kitchen Visits and Weight Reduction Support Groups for "The Self-Hypnosis Diet." Yoga and Food is a unique group offering which begins with a 1 1/2 hour yoga practice prior to a 1 1/2 hour Kitchen Visit. See the Events page for details of Yoga and Food.

$ 60.00 Initial Assessment and Consultation - 1 hr $ 60.00 Follow-up Consultation - 1 hr
$ 90.00 Follow-up Consultation - 1 1/2 hrs
$120.00 Follow-up Consultation - 2 hrs
$ 45.00 Group Kitchen Visit - 1 ½ hrs - cost is per person with a minimum 3
We do NOT participate with any insurance plans or Medicare. You will receive a receipt that has all of the information you will need in order to submit your own insurance claim to your health plan. However, a Medicare claim cannot be submitted for these visits.
Please note that your bill for services will be payable to Behavioral Medicine, Ltd. We do accept Visa, Master Card, and American Express.
Behavioral Nutrition begins by exploring new tastes slowly, just a spoonful at a time. I do “Food Tasting” in my office (yes, just like a “wine tasting”) of unfamiliar foods, where you can taste whole grains, such as kamut, quinoa, more healthful sweeteners such as brown rice syrup, agave syrup, or plant proteins such as pinions and tempeh.
Other steps in Behavioral Nutrition include learning the simple art of reading Nutrition Facts labels and Ingredients labels, pantry exploration (whether your own or Joy's Kitchen), learning about healthy pantry staples, grocery list composing, and grocery shopping tours.
It’s one thing to have all the good foods in the kitchen, it’s another to know how to put them together to make a nourishing meal. This is the final step, learning the simple skills that turn a bag full of groceries into a wholesome and nourishing meal…and, quickly, too. These simple steps, taken at your own unique pace, lead to you loving nourishing food.
JOY is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and has had a personal practice for over 35 years.
